What's New:

We want to extend special thanks to the Cream City Foundation, who has helped us getting started with a grant to our general fund. The foundation is also involved in a project to help homeless transgender teens. You can learn more about the Foundation by clicking here.

As new information arises for the Milwaukee area we will be posting it on the milwaukee chapter website. You can visit their website at Chapter 1. National events will continue to be posted here. We are still working out some bugs with the software on the chapter site, but will move Milwaukee news there once completed.

As our site grows larger and larger information may get lost. We have added a google site search engine to our site to make navigation easier. It's located in our navigation panel at the left. Give it a try.

Forgotten Vets Holiday Surprise:

Two days after Christmas 2008, Vets Do Ask Do Tell in collaboration with Countryside Christian Church sponsored a holiday party for our forgotten veterans, who would be homeless if it weren't for the dormitories located at the VA, Milwaukee.

Vet's Journey Home Project:

In collaboration with the Center for Creative Learning, LLC and the Milwaukee LGBT Center, the VDADT will be working on a project that encompasses all vets. This project is in the planning stages but requires support from the community. You can read more by clicking here.

Open House:

We have scheduled an open house for January 24th, 2009 from 6 PM to 9 PM. It will be held at our offices located at 315 W. Court St, Milwaukee, WI. There will be a presentation on who we are and also some guest speakers. Finger foods will be available. We will have more on this as the time grows near.

Pridefest Milwaukee:

As we build, we are making our presence known. Meet the board at Pridefest. June 12th through the 14th, 2009. We will be located in the Wellness Area. We are planning lots of fun and a giveaway. Learn about us and the programs we are sponsoring.

Office Hours:

Our Office will be open Wednesdays from 7 PM to 9 PM in the evening. Where you can come in and discuss things of interest to you as a veteran. We are open to folks who are just supporters as well. We are a diverse organization and all vets are welcome.

Door Sign Campaign:

WOW! We didn't anticipate such a response. VA staff had asked if we could supply a low cost sign that would indicate that their office was LGBT friendly. We have provided to date 100+ signs to VA staff members. These signs are displayed at the main VA medical center in Milwaukee plus at several of their satellite clinics throughout the state. The signs are magnetic and can be easily moved from office to office. They are available in our store.

Did you know that the VA has a website where you can enter medical information, order refills to your perscriptions, track medications, vital signs, emergency information and much more. more>>

VET To VET Program in Central Alabama:

Cental Alabama Veterans Administration has a mentoring program where Vets from previous conflicts help Vets returning from Iraq and Afghanistan who are having problems when returning home. You can read more about it by clicking on VA Programs and then Montgomery on our menu.
